A political prisoner Yana Arabeika got married in a colony

Yana Arabeika, a political prisoner involved in the “students’ case”, got married in a colony, the Viasna human rights center reports. Her husband Valery Tomilin reported this on his Facebook page.

Yana is an activist, a supporter of the “Association of Belarusian students”, a student of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University.

Arabeika was detained right in the dormitory on November 12 as part of a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (Organization or participation in group actions that grossly violate public order). Later she was sentenced to 2.5 years in a penal colony.
