Today, at a meeting with Vadim Sinyavski, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Lukashenka proposed to equate the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations with the security forces and determine which of them to issue firearms to, so that “in case of a conflict they could be used for military purposes.”

However, the fact is that weapons have already been issued to employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Thus, readers of motolko.help report that back in 2014, cadets of the Command and Engineering Institute of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus were issued weapons during exercise. Cadets were taught to shoot AK-74 and were taken to a military training ground near Minsk.

However, the Ministry of Emergency Situations already has firearms at its disposal. For example, at least 150 units of AK-74 and several Makarov Pistols (PM) with cartridges are constantly stored at the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus.

“AK is used during participation in parades, but it is a full-fledged combat weapon. Cadets are given it without a shutter and cleaning accessories,” readers of motolko.help report.
