The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) expects that inflation in Belarus will remain at about 10% in annual terms. It may slow down as external price pressures ease. In addition, the bank believes that additional measures of the regulator may be required to reduce inflation.

Let us recall that inflation amounted to 9.97% at the end of 2021. The EDB notes that the decline in growth rates was influenced by the indicators of regulated prices.

«Core inflation does not show a steady slowdown due to external price pressures, elevated inflation expectations, the consequences of a low harvest,» the bank stated in its weekly review of the economies of the countries of operations of the bank.
