Russian troops will be completely withdrawn from Belarus after the exercise. This was stated by Vladimir Makei, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, at a press conference at the National Press Center. According to him, exercise «Union Resolve – 2022» is a planned exercise. Its holding in Belarus is justified by the activity of NATO on the western borders and in Ukraine. Makei called the exercise a response to the actions of the Western partners.

«Not a single soldier, not a single unit of military equipment will remain after these exercise. This has been stated at the level of the Ministry of Defense, President Lukashenka said so as well. The Belarusian side stated this during various events at the OSCE,» he assured.

The minister did not specify the number of military personnel taking part in the exercise. He lonely said that their number does not exceed the number allowed by the Vienna Document 2011.

«We have not violated and will not violate a single provision of the Vienna Document,» he said.

It should be noted that on Monday, Aliaksandr Lukashenka said he would meet with Vladimir Putin to discuss the withdrawal of Russian units. According to him, they will be withdrawn when Lukashenka and Putin deem it necessary.
