739,314 people were dismissed in Belarus in 2021. This is the information of Belstat database. In comparison with 2020, the number of dismissals increased by 3.6%. Statistics do not include small and micro-organizations without departmental subordination, NGOs. During the year, 37,861 people were dismissed for absenteeism and other violations of labor discipline. The number of such layoffs increased by 2.75%.
48,121 people were fired in December, including 3,055 for absenteeism and violations. The number of the latter increased by 9.7% compared to the same month in 2020.
668,842 people were hired in 2021. The indicator decreased by 0.15% compared to the same period in 2020. In December, 42,907 people got a job, or 3.5% more than in the same month of 2020.
Thus, the number of dismissed exceeded the number of hired by 70,470 people in 2021.
The largest increase in employment was noted in IT sphere last year. 19,670 people were hired in a year, which is 1.5 times more than in 2020. The number of hired people in pharmaceuticals is 44.6% higher compared to 2020. In woodworking and printing, the increase was 32.3%, in forestry and logging – 19.3%, in mechanical engineering – by 18.1%.
Last year, the hiring at organizations that are engaged in accounting, management, activities in the field of law was halved, and the mining industry was reduced by 11.3%.
