Today Walid Nassar, Lebanese Tourism Minister, instructed the country’s travel agencies not to promote Belarus as a tourist destination in order to reduce the flow of illegal migration, the Lebanon International Broadcasting Corporation reports.

Such a decision was taken due to the worsening conditions at the Belarusian- Polish border following the influx of migrants as tourists to Belarus from the Middle East. Some of those wishing to get to the EU countries through Poland are Middle Eastern and African nationals. They use the Rafic Hariri International airport in Beirut to get to Belarus using Belavia Airlines, – Nassar noted.

Fadi El-Hassan, Lebanon’s Director General of Civil Aviation, sent an internal document to airlines and ground carriers. It refers to the restriction on leaving the Lebanese Republic for Belarus.
