The Nobel Foundation refused to invite the ambassadors of the regime in Belarus, Russia and Iran to the Nobel Prize ceremony. This is reported by SVT, citing a statement of the Foundation.

“We recognize the strong reactions in Sweden, which completely overshadowed this message. The board of the Nobel Foundation, therefore, choose to repeat last year’s exception to regular practice – that is, to not invite the ambassadors of Russia, Belarus and Iran to the Nobel Prize award ceremony in Stockholm,” the Foundation said.

At the same time, it’s said that, as before, all ambassadors will be invited to the ceremony in Oslo.

We recall that last year, the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to political prisoner, human rights defender Ales Bialiatski, the Russian Memorial, and the Ukrainian Center for Civil Liberties. Ales Bialiatski was imprisoned by the regime, which is represented by the ambassadors to Sweden and Norway.
