This morning, on May 18, it became known that the Investigative Committee of Belarus opened a new criminal case against the head of the BYSOL Foundation Andrei Stryzhak. The official report says that the case was initiated under part 2 of Article 361-3 of the Criminal Code «Participation in an armed formation or armed conflict, military actions, recruitment or preparation of persons to such participation on the territory of a foreign state.»
It turns out that the Investigative Committee called the war in Ukraine not a «special operation,» but an armed conflict and military actions for the first time.
By the way, according to Stryzhak, such a criminal case only emphasizes the importance of BYSOL’s work to help Ukraine. In addition, BYSOL continues to raise money to support Belarusian volunteers in the Ukrainian army.
