This afternoon, Zerkalo publication reported that two shells fell in the village of Bor (Lepel district, Vitebsk region). The first one fell into the lake and the second one right into a garden in the village.
It is known that the Lepelski training ground is located there, where the previously announced exercises of the Ministry of Defense are held until August 20.

The reception office of the Lepel District Executive Committee told journalists that they were not aware of the incident: «Something could have fired because of the exercises, but the village is territorially far away.» (the village is about 5 km. from the training ground).
Later, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus also commented on the situation, although their words differ from what was reported to journalists by eyewitnesses.
«During an artillery firing test exercise at the Lepelski training ground, two shells ricocheted into a lake and a swamp within a safe distance from nearby settlements. There was no damage or casualties,» the Ministry of Defense reported.
