According to the Ministry of Defence of Belarus, it happened during combat training: the soldier “got a gunshot wound incompatible with life.” The incident is being investigated.
According to the Belarusian Hajun Project, units of the 11th mechanized brigade were redeployed on July 14-16 by rail from the permanent deployment location in Slonim to the railway station in Yelsk. It was reported that the unit arrived in Yelsk “to strengthen the protection of the state border in the Yelsk district.”
