A special section appeared on the website of the U.S. Department of State devoted to «holding the regimes in Russia and Belarus to account» for the war against Ukraine.
«The United States, along with its allies and partners, works to ensure the Russian Federation and the Lukashenka regime in Belarus pay a severe economic and diplomatic price for Russia’s aggression against Ukraine,» the introduction to the section says.
It is notable that the U.S. clearly distinguishes «Belarus» and the «Lukashenko regime,» as evidenced by the introduction to the new section.
The block contains a complete list of restrictions that the U.S. has already imposed on the Lukashenka regime and Russia for complicity in the war, among them sanctions, export and import controls, visa restrictions and measures against the private sector.
All decisions are given in chronological order with links to relevant restrictive decisions of the Department of the Treasury and other agencies of the U.S. government.
