The Council of Ministers adopted Resolution №699 «On Amending resolution №311 of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated May 25, 2020». According to the document, special navigation seals will have to be put on the trucks of truckers entering Belarus from Poland now.

Previously, seals were mandatorily placed only on trucks coming from Lithuania. At the same time, it is noted that the innovation will not affect trucks transiting through Lithuania and Poland from Kaliningrad to Russia, as well as heavy and (or) large-sized vehicles, the passage of which provides for a special permit.

In addition, the cost of seals was raised from 5 base rates (145 rubles) to 10 base rates (290 rubles).

According to the telegram channel » Belarusian Economy», navigation seals may well become a new source of income for the official Minsk. It is also worth noting that the beginning of the «sealing» of trucks was laid in June 2020, but then the rental price of the seal was 3 base rates, and cargos were sealed selectively.

According to the Customs Committee data, in 2020, more than 2.3 million trucks crossed the customs border of the EAEU in Belarus, about 6.5 thousand trucks daily. It turns out that if the flow of trucks remained at the same level and if mandatory sealing is also introduced at the entrance from Ukraine and Latvia, then the maximum earnings on seals can be 1,885,000 BYN per day or 667 million BYN per year.
