Due to the liquidation of the eco-organization «Ecohome», Belarus was deprived of rights and privileges under the international environmental convention. Belarus can no longer participate in the presidium of the Aarhus Convention, hold the positions of chairmen of the Convention bodies and hold expert meetings or intergovernmental meetings on it in the country.

The authorities were given a month to resume the registration of «Ecohome», but they did not do it.

The Aarhus Convention is a convention of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe «On access to information, public participation in decision-making and access to justice in environmental matters».
