Metropolitan Veniamin met with Ruben Arutyunian, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Belarus, on February 1. The meeting was held in the Minsk diocesan administration and had the character of acquaintance, the official website of the Belarusian Orthodox Church reports.
The interlocutors discussed the situation in the world, the participation of the BOC in the preparation of proposals for amendments to the Constitution and a number of other issues.
«Nowadays, it is so important to preserve peace in Europe, to restore good-neighborly relations,» Veniamin said and called for resolving conflicts peacefully.
