Aviation activity
- Active flights of the Russian Aerospace Forces and Belarusian Air Force continued. Fighters and helicopters took off from the following airfield: Machulishchy, Baranavichy, Lida and Luninets.
- During the day, training involving aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces and Belarusian Air Force were held at the Ruzhanski training ground. The work of the training ground was extended till January 31.
- An-12 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces (RF-93586) arrived at Luninets airfield from Machulishchy airfield. Later it flew to Russia.
Rail activity
Movements by rail increased slightly. Military cargo trains with equipment and soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces were spotted in Homel, Baranavichy and Asipovichy, where a train with about 30 units of 152-mm Msta-B howitzers, 14 KamAZ trucks, 8 passenger cars (≈ 400 soldiers), and 4 freight cars were being unloaded.
Movements by road
No large columns with military vehicles of the Russian Armed Forces were recorded. Single vehicles were recorded in Minsk, Mazyr, and on the M1 highway (Barysau→Krupki).
Activity of the Belarusian Armed Forces was similar. Military vehicles were spotted in Minsk, Luninets, and on the M10 highway (Luninets→Pinsk).
We should also mention a column, which was seen on the R23 highway (Karaliova → Mikashevichy). It consisted of at least 5 KamAZ trucks and Ural trucks of the Belarusian Armed Forces with trailers, as well as a 40V6 tower for S300/400 antennas from the S-300/400 SAM system division.
There is reason to believe that this is the 2nd part of the S-300/400 SAM division, which was spotted on January 19, moving towards Mikashevichy. It is possible that the «splitting up» of the division was deliberate, in order to cover the transfer of S-300/400 SAM systems to the southern part of the country.
