Tsikhanouskaya thanked Arestovych for his support of Belarusians. In response, he said that «it would be a mistake to think of Belarusians as people incapable of resistance.» During the conversation, Arestovych said that he understands the situation in Belarus very well and emphasized the role of the underground resistance. He also stressed that Ukrainians do not put an equal sign between the actions of Lukashenka and Belarusians. Oleksiy Arestovych assured Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya that not a single Ukrainian shell would fall on the Belarusian territory.
The politicians discussed the role of a representative for Belarusians in Ukraine, who would protect the interests of Belarusians in the government, and the synchronization of the two countries’ agendas so that free Ukraine and democratic Belarus would speak with one voice.
