Russia transfers S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems and Su-35 air-defence fighter to Belarus

Russia is transferring to Belarus two battalions of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems and a division of Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and gun systems, as well as 12 Su-35 aircraft, RIA News reports with reference to Aleksandr Fomin, the Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia. The number of other troops that will be transferred to Belarus as part of the inspection of the Union State’s rapid reaction forces is not called.

The inspection is held in two stages. The redeployment of troops will be until February 9. They will have to occupy the districts for their intended purpose. The completion of the inspection will be the drills «Union Resolve — 2022», which will be held from February 10 to February 20. Practical actions are planned at the training grounds «Obuz-Lesnovski», «Osipovichski», «Brestski», «Gozhski» and «Domanovski», as well as in certain areas of the terrain. It is planned to use the airfields of Baranovichi, Luninets, Lida, Machulishchi.
