A truck with contraband hidden among the boards was stopped near the Polish-Lithuanian border in Budzisko. Customs officers X-rayed the truck and found that some pallets with boards had caches of cigarettes.

Smuggling of tobacco with Belarusian excise taxes is associated with businessman Alexei Oleksin, one of Lukashenka’s friends, who is notorious in Belarus thanks to the ubiquitous Tabakerka.
