The Council of Ministers amended the list of sanctioned goods approved by Resolution No. 700 of 6.12.2021 «On the application of special measures against certain types of goods».

Today, the National Legal Internet Portal published the Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 51 of January 27, which excludes salt (code 2501 00) and other food products (codes 1 901 90, 2106 90) from the list of goods subject to the embargo.

In addition, it was clarified that the ban on the import of certain confectionery products does not apply to goods intended for the production of baby food, preschool and school meals, the purpose of which is confirmed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Also, the embargo will not affect dietary supplements, medicines, including homeopathic, vitamins, minerals, vitamin-mineral complexes, medical devices.

These new notes affect such codes as:

  • 1704 (sugar confectionery (including white chocolate), not containing cocoa);
  • 1806 (chocolate and other finished food products containing cocoa);
  • 1905 (Bread, flour confectionery, cakes, cookies and other bakery and flour confectionery products, containing or not containing cocoa; waffle plates, empty capsules suitable for pharmaceutical use, waffle coatings for sealing, rice paper and similar products).

The resolution comes into force 10 days after its publication. The list of sanctioned goods was reduced less than two months after the approval of counter-sanctions and less than a month after their start.
