Russia transfers Pantsir-S air defense systems to Belarus

Russia continues to redeploy military units to the territory of Belarus as part of the verification of the Union State’s response forces. This time, Russian Pantsir-S air defense systems arrived in Belarus. They were transferred from the Eastern Military District of Russia.

«Upon completion of unloading, the personnel will make a march on standard equipment to the specified areas, where they will perform a set of measures for the engineering equipment of the positions, conduct maintenance of equipment and take up training combat duty on air defense as part of the Unified Regional Air Defense System of Belarus and Russia,» the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Russia reports.

The inspection will be held in two stages. Until February 9, the redeployment and creation of groups of Russian troops (forces) on the territory of Belarus will be carried out. During the second stage of the inspection, from February 10 to 20, a joint exercise «Union Resolve – 2022» will be held.
