The Security Council discussed with Aliaksandr Lukashenka the mechanisms for denationalization today. This was stated by Aliaksandr Volfovich, the Secretary of State of the Security Council. After that, BelTA agency quoted his words, clearly addressed to Lukashenka’s opponents.

“Let every traitor think about whether to continue to harm the country or behave with dignity,” Volfovich said.

He also said that the Security Council discussed measures during the preparation and holding of the “referendum”.

“We took into account the events that happened in Belarus in August 2020. We made additional conclusions from the situation in Kazakhstan in 2022. All subjects of the national security system have planned measures to ensure security during the preparation and holding of the referendum,” he added.

Also, following the meeting, the proposal on criminal proceedings in absentia against Lukashenka’s opponents was supported.
