Starting next year, employers and tax agents will be required to file tax returns on employee income tax. This was stated by Ella Silitskaya, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties, in an interview with BelTA.
"We are planning to introduce a declaration for tax agents on income tax from next year. [...] Practice shows that not always all business entities transfer the amount of income tax to the budget in a timely manner and fully", –Silitskaya said.
According to her, a separate tax return will allow the Ministry of Taxes and Duties to promptly recover underpayment.
"If income tax is not transferred to the budget in full, then on the basis of this tax return, we will be able to promptly recover the missing amount", –she said.
Silitskaya noted that this approach will allow tax agents to avoid penalties for late payment of taxes, which is now accrued based on the results of the audit.
