Relocation of Magic Air planes to Belarus, 17.08.2024 / motolko.help

At the time of transportation to Belarus, the planes were registered by Magic Air (Gambia) Company Limited, an unremarkable company from Gambia, and were in storage in different countries of the world.

Russian aviation media immediately assumed that the mentioned planes would be transferred from Minsk to Russia, since there are those who operate similar models among Russian airlines. The same opinion was expressed on the pages of the German Bild.de, but in even more radical wording: «Four planes for Putin: Secret Airbus smuggling to Russia.»

At the moment, five days later, one of the planes (C5-TAA) received a new registration number – YK-BAC, indicating Syria as the country of registration, and now belonging to the fleet of the Syrian Cham Wings Airlines. The company is known for being sanctioned by the U.S., Ukraine and Switzerland, including for its involvement in the supply of illegal migrants to Belarus, and it is also involved in the transportation of weapons and militants of PMC Wagner.

Thus, the theory about the transfer of Airbus planes to Russia hasn’t been confirmed yet. However, there is a good chance that the remaining aircraft will also be transferred to Syria (with a lower probability) and Iran (which is more likely, since the three remaining aircraft are «large» models of Airbus A330-200, which are in demand by Iranian airlines).

In Belarus, the planes can undergo minimal maintenance, besides, in this way the owner simply covers the tracks of dubious deals on the sale of the aircraft to sanctioned countries.

We recall that earlier we have repeatedly told about the transit of planes through Belarus to Iran.

And also about such manipulations through a company from Gambia with planes stored in Lithuania and transferred to Iran.

By the way, there is a continuation in this story: the third Airbus A340-600 with the Gambian number C5-MIB, which was stuck in Siauliai after our article, managed to change its registration to the American one – N340YY – and yesterday evening (August 22) it flew from Lithuania to France for storage.
