Reform.by noticed that a bill to suspend the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe with Poland and the Czech Republic has been submitted to the House of Representatives.

The Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe was signed in 1990 by 16 NATO member states and 6 Warsaw Pact states.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus claimed that Poland was allegedly violating the CFE Treaty by increasing the number of troops and purchasing new weapons, but the 1999 version of the Treaty, when the Agreement on Adaptation of the CFE Treaty was signed in Istanbul, didn’t mention the number of troops.

It should be noted that earlier this year, Russia denounced the CFE Treaty.
