Israel is interested in establishing the names of murdered Jews on the territory of Belarus. This was stated on the air of the First National Channel of Belarusian Radio by Alex Goldman-Shaiman, the Ambassador of Israel to Belarus.

He noted that the country is interested in what the investigation of the criminal case against the genocide of the Belarusian people will lead to.

«We are interested in learning the names and stories of Jewish Belarusians, who were destroyed in those days. We are working and collaborating with the National Archives now to publish a collection that describes history. Archival specialists who can cite and voice the stories of those Jews in Belarus who suffered at that time. And this, of course, is very interesting for us to receive this information, and we are ready to cooperate at the academic, museum level,» he said.

According to him, more than a million Jews lived in Belarus before the war. During the Holocaust, more than 800,000 Belarusian Jews and Jews brought from Europe were killed.

Today the world celebrates the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust.
