This was announced by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus. It is reported that the troops will move to the designated areas, conduct their engineering maintenance, organize protection and defense, as well as build bridge crossings across the Neman and Berazina rivers. It should be noted that the Neman and Berazina rivers are not in the close proximity to the border with Ukraine.

- The Neman river flows in the northwestern part of the country, in Minsk and Hrodna regions, and then it goes to Lithuania;
- The whole Berazina river is located on the territory of Belarus and flows in four regions: Vitsebsk, Minsk, Mahiliou and Homel. The closest point of the river to the border with Ukraine is its mouth, which is located in the village Berahavaya Slabada (Rechytsa district, Homel region). And even from that point it is at least 80 km to the border with Ukraine.
As part of the inspection, the movement of military equipment and personnel is also planned, as well as the temporary restriction of movement of citizens (transport) along certain public roads and areas.
It is not reported whether the inspection announced today is connected with the beginning of the movements of the Russian Armed Forces, about which we wrote yesterday.
The latest such inspection was announced on October 11, 2022. At that time, combined companies of the 6th (Hrodna) and 120th (Minsk) Mechanized Brigades and the 38th Air Assault Brigade (Brest) were involved in the inspection. The total number of the involved in the inspection did not exceed 500 people and 50 units of military equipment.
It should be noted that before the beginning of the inspection on October 11, a decision to deploy the regional group of troops of Russia and Belarus was announced. On October 15, the first train with the Russian military arrived in Belarus. The start of the sudden inspection of the rapid reaction forces was also announced on May 4, 2022.
