The Ministry of Information has restricted access to the website of «Gazeta Slonimskaya». According to the publication, the reason for the blocking was the revealed violations of the legislation on media in terms of posting information, the distribution of which is prohibited.
In November 2020, searches were conducted in the editorial office of the newspaper and the house of the editor-in-chief, equipment was seized. The newspaper suspended publication of its printed version. The publication tried to resume production, but Belarusian printing houses refused to print the newspaper. In June 2021, Yeugeni Valadashchuk, the owner of the gs.by website, was fined for publishing material from an Internet resource that was recognized as extremist.
