The monitoring group of the Belarusian Hajun project has information that today, December 25, the engine of one of the MiG-31K of the Russian Aerospace Forces, which can carry hypersonic Kinzhal missiles, caught fire at the airfield in Machulishchy

We recall that on December 13, 2022, three MiG-31K of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrived in Machulishchy. This is the second rotation in Belarus for this type of aircraft. Previously, three MiG arrived on October 16 and stayed in Belarus for 46 days. But this time, IL-76 A-50U «Sergey Atayants» AEW&C aircraft with reg. number RF-93966 is deployed together with the fighters in Machulishchy and conducts joint flights.

The December MiGs have registration numbers RF-92215, RF-92445, and RF-95194. They have already made at least 4 flights (December 16, 17, 21, and 25).

During the two weeks of presence, all the MiGs conducted flights, except for one with registration number RF-95194 (board number 50 «blue»). And that is because, according to our sources, on December 25 this aircraft had an engine fire, the damage received does not allow the aircraft to fly in the near future.

Whether it is caused by the age of the aircraft (MiG was produced from 1975 to 1994 and put into service in 1981) or the incompetence of the flight crew (the aircraft was modernized after 2015), we can consider the fact that the potential source of death for the Ukrainian people got temporarily out of service on Christmas as a miracle.
