In terms of food commodity consumption, Belarusian products still hold the championship, but there are positions where imports dominate. According to the results of 9 months of 2021, these are fresh fruits and nuts (the share of imports is 92.7%), fish (87.2%), vegetable oil (84.8%).
It is worth noting that protest-minded Belarusians deliberately avoid buying domestically produced goods in order not to support companies associated with the current regime (such as Santa Bremor, Savushkin Product and the Main Economic Directorate under the President), as well as goods of Belarusian state-owned enterprises, goods advertised on Belarusian television, cigarettes and alcohol, for excise taxes on which the Belarusian regime receives a lot of money. To do this, many Belarusians use the Krama application, which helps to determine the «connection» of the goods with pro-governmental structures and businesses by the barcode.
