On Saturday, the Telegram channel «Well, let’s go, people!» reported that Belavia Airlines was excluded from the Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) system. Today, this information was confirmed to the publication Zerkalo.io in IATA.

«We confirm that Belavia Airlines has been suspended from participating in the IATA Billing and Settlement Program (BSP) and the Cargo Account Settlement System (CASS)»,– IATA told journalists of Zerkalo.io.

The BSP system helps to unify financial and information flows, which will simplify the procedure for issuing and selling air tickets by airlines and agents. Today, 370 airlines in 180 countries are included in this system. At the same time, the Cargo Account Settlement System (CASS) is designed to conduct settlements between airlines and freight forwarders.

We remind that Belavia Airlines came under the fifth sanctions package of the EU. This is attributed to assistance in transporting migrants from the Middle East. Earlier, we wrote that since October 26, the airline has sent for storage or transferred to partners 14 of its aircraft.
