The BYPOL initiative reports that the staffing of the internal affairs bodies is now 25%, and about 50% in some Regional Police Departments. In one of its investigations, BYPOL mentioned that Ivan Kubrakov, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, received an order to conduct “purges” in the ranks of the Internal Affairs Department by January 1, including the central office of the ministry, where it is planned to dismiss more than 500 employees with a staffing of just under 1,000 people.

However, now, according to the initiative, the decision of this issue has been postponed until a referendum on amending the Constitution is held. In addition, BYPOL reports that Ivan Kubrakov, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, may be dismissed, and Yury Nazarenko, who was previously the commander of the internal troops, may replace him.
