The U.S. Treasury Department (OFAC) imposed sanctions against Belarusian Iryna Litvinyuk and Russian Dmitry Kudryakov for their involvement in corruption schemes in Guatemala’s mining sector. The U.S. Treasury Department said that Litvinyuk illegally transferred cash to public officials in exchange for support for Russian mining interests.

«Kudryakov and Litviniuk are designated pursuant to E.O. 13818 for having materially assisted, […] in support of corruption, including the misappropriation of state assets, corruption related to government contracts, or the extraction of natural resources, or bribery,» the website of the U.S.Treasury Department says.
