Литва может закрыть 2 из 6 погранпереходов с Беларусью
На беларускай мове:
Літва можа закрыць 2 з 6 памежпераходаў з Беларуссю
This was stated by deputy Interior Minister of Lithuania Arnoldas Abramavicius, BNS reports. According to him, it will happen in the near future, the decision is to be taken by the government.
«In the near future, a decision will be made to close two border crossings. If today Poland has practically one crossing, we have six. One of the preventive measures will be the reduction of six checkpoints to four,» Abramavicius said.
So far, we are talking about the border crossings Sumskas — Losha and Tverecius- Vidzy. Not all vehicles can pass through them. For example, empty trucks can pass through Tverecius, while vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons can pass through Sumskas. The busiest crossings on the border between Belarus and Lithuania are Kamienny Loh — Medininkai, Pryvalka — Raigardas, Beniakoni — Salcininkai, and Katlouka- Lavoriskes.
Deputy Commander of the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) Saulius Nekraskevicius said that the closure of border crossings would reduce the risk of threats and noted that these border crossings are secondary, as there is limited capacity for transport and people.
«No vehicles with cargo pass through the Tverecius border crossing [only empty ones pass], and only vehicles up to 3.5 tons pass through Sumskas,» Nekraskevicius said.
At the same time, we note that the busiest crossings on the border between Belarus and Lithuania are Kamienny Loh — Medininkai, Pryvalka — Raigardas, Beniakoni — Salcininkai, and Katlouka- Lavoriskes, and there is no talk about their closure yet.
