Lithuanian Railways will not transport Belaruskali’s products without the corresponding conclusion of the government commission to check the transactions of strategic enterprises.

According to the press release of the Lithuanian Railways, no application for the transportation of fertilizers in February has been confirmed. At the same time, today, February 1, cars with some products of Belaruskali, which were loaded on January 31, could still pass on the railway in Lithuania. Lithuanian Railways promises to return empty cars to Belarus by the end of this week. In total, there are about a thousand of them in Lithuania.

The railway will apply to the government commission for any transactions that in one way or another involve the transportation of Belaruskali products.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka promised Lithuania tough retaliatory measures in case of termination of the transit of potash fertilizers up to a full-fledged economic war: the transfer of all Belarusian cargo to Russian ports, the closure of the border for Lithuanian carriers. According to him, Russia may also join these measures. Yesterday, Lukashenka instructed the government to implement a plan prepared in case of closure of potash transit through Lithuania.
