Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) is planning to purchase Cummins turbo engines for its new tractor model. This was agreed at the negotiations by the management of KAMAZ, Pyotr Parkhomchik, the head of the Ministry of Industry of Belarus, and Vitaly Vovk, the general director of MTZ, in Naberezhnye Chelny, Vesti KAMAZ reports.
Six-cylinder turbo engines with a capacity of 125 h.p. for the needs of MTZ will be produced at the Cummins Kama CJSC, a joint enterprise of KAMAZ and the American corporation Cummins Inc. The trade and production company MTZ-Tatarstan, which produces tractors in Yelabuga and is the exclusive distributor of MTZ, will purchase them.
It is planned to produce 5 thousand tractors «Belarus 2022.3» with these engines per year. It is reported about plans to develop transmissions for tractors by the alliance of KAMAZ and ZF Friedrichshafen AG.
The possible supply of front axles for agricultural machinery, which can be produced at the future foundry of KAMAZ in Kazakhstan, was also discussed.
