Igor Kizim, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus, commented on Lukashenka’s words about the return of his country to the «Slavic fold». The diplomat recalled the words of Aliaksandr Lukashenka: «We will return our Ukraine to the fold of our Slavs,» Pozirk telegram channel reports.

«It’s not clear who «we» are. And, in this context, why is Ukraine «ours» for someone and when did it come out of the «Slavic fold»? If «we» is Belarus, then it is obvious that we are the very «Slavic fold» with the Belarusians  (by the way, with Poles, Bulgarians, Slovaks and others too) and we do not need to return there, we did not leave it. If «we» is A. Lukashenka and V. Putin, and «our Slavic fold» is the union of Belarus with the Russian Federation, then it will soon be difficult to talk about Russia as a «Slavic» state, and no generation of Ukrainians will want to return to the «fold» (or, more correctly, to the union), where there is a country that seized the Ukrainian Crimea, unleashed and continues the war in the Donbass, the victims of which were tens of thousands of Slavs. This is an axiom, and there is nothing to prove here,» Igor Kizim wrote.
