The Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater, from which almost the entire troupe left in August 2020 as a protest, announced audition again, the theater administration reports. The last time the casting for the theater was announced in mid-November 2021.
Professional artists and students with specialized education aged 21 to 70 years are invited to the audition.
Most of the artists and all directors of the Kupalauski resigned from the theater in the summer of 2020 in protest against the actions of the Belarusian authorities and the dismissal of the director of the theater Pavel Latushka, who spoke out in support of the protesters. Only a few people remained in the troupe, including Olga Nefedova, who became the artistic director of the theater.
