Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office reports that today, under the guise of a letter from the Office, fraudsters sent letters to Belarus’ diplomatic partners – ambassadors and representatives of various countries. The text contains a number of fake, unrelated to reality statements, which are belied by the facts:

First, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya has been saying since the first day of the war that Putin is the aggressor, who started the war in Ukraine with the help of Lukashenka, who allowed the Russian army to start the invasion of Ukraine from the territory of Belarus against the will of the Belarusians. Her first statement was published at 05:15 a.m. on February 24.

Second, Tsikhanouskaya called for recognition of Belarus as a country under temporary military occupation back in March during her speech at the UN and called to court-martial Lukashenka, as well as Putin. Tsikhanouskaya defends the position that there can be no free Belarus without free Ukraine, while without free Belarus there will be no guarantees of security for Ukraine. Therefore, it is necessary to achieve the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of both Ukraine and Belarus. In addition, Tsikhanouskaya and her team keep contact with representatives of Ukraine and publicly express support for the people and the president of Ukraine.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya has also repeatedly stated that, given the events of the past two years, Belarusians see more and more sense in rapprochement with Europe. She has always said that the 2020 protest in Belarus did not start against any third country – the Belarusians protested against the election fraud, violence, torture, and murder of peaceful protesters. We wanted to solve the internal problem and free our country from the dictatorship, and the Belarusians are confronting two dictators, who started the war. In order to solve the Belarusian issue, both Lukashenka and Putin must be stopped.

In addition, the letter was sent from an email that does not belong to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s team. All official contacts and emails are listed on the official website of the Office.
