The publication RBK-Ukraine with reference to the results of the auction Ukrenergo writes that from November 1, Ukraine will resume the import of electricity from Belarus.

It is reported that the reason for the resumption of electricity imports is that in Ukraine, starting from summer of 2021, due to abnormally low electricity prices, there was a shortage of coal at state-owned thermal power plants. Now the Ukrainian state-owned company Energoatom has bought a cross section for import from Belarus in November with a capacity of 885 out of 900 available MW. Another 15 MW was purchased by Electro Community LLC.

Starting from May this year until October 1, Ukraine had a ban on the import of electricity from Belarus and Russia. Later the ban was extended until November 1.
