The Nigerian newspaper Punch reports that today, Muhammadu Buhari, the president of Nigeria, met with Lukashenka’s special representative Viktor Sheiman in the capital’s State House. It is reported that the parties discussed issues of cooperation in various fields, but primarily in the field of agriculture.
According to Sheiman, Belarus is ready to cooperate with Nigeria in the field of mechanized agriculture, and can also help in fight against terrorism.
«We will love to cooperate in industry, agriculture, petroleum, refineries, education, joint trading, transport, building of oil and gas pipelines, manufacturing of tyres, tractors, defense equipment, and several others«,– the Nigerian publication quotes Sheiman.
Speaking about Minsk’s ties with Nigeria, it is hard not to recall that in December 2020, the Minister of Defense of this country met with the Belarusian delegation led by Colonel Andrei Krasovsky, the head of the Special Training Center, which previously trained the special forces of Nigeria. The issue of advanced training of Nigerian special forces officers was discussed at that meeting.
This year, it was known that the building where this center was located was transferred to the first private security company in Belarus – GardService LLC. Thus, it cannot be ruled out that Viktor Sheiman at a meeting in Nigeria discussed not only agriculture, but also the activities of the Private Security Company GardService.
