The Central Election Commission (CEC) approved the schedule for holding a referendum. Voting on amendments to the Constitution is set for February 27. According to the schedule, early voting will be held from February 22 to 26.
Territorial election commissions should be formed today. Polling stations must be created until February 1. Nomination of representatives to the precinct commissions will be held until February 3. Precinct commissions are going to be formed by February 6. Lists of citizens to participate in the referendum should be prepared by February 11. Stands with information materials on the issues of the referendum should appear at the polling stations until February 12.
The Central Election Commission also approved the regulations on the work of observers. During the early voting period, no more than three observers may be present at the polling station at a time.
«At the meetings of precinct commissions, in the voting premises, no more than five observers can be present at the same time. During the period of early voting, no more than three observers are allowed to enter the polling place at the same time,» the regulation says.
The rule of three observers does not apply to international observers, deputies of the House of Representatives, members of the Council of the Republic, deputies of local Councils of Deputies.
It is prescribed to comply with the anti-epidemic recommendations of the Ministry of Health. An innovation during the voting will be that the ballot can be obtained both by passport and by ID-card.
