Belarusian Hajun Project published a situation report on military activity on the territory of Belarus as of 07:00 April 18.
Russian Armed Forces columns continue to move through the territory of Belarus (1, 2,). The columns mostly consist of Ural and KamAZ trucks, as well as fuel trucks. Columns carrying armored vehicles on trailers were also spotted.
We can distinguish the following routes of columns: Russian border – Dobrush, Kalinkavichy – Babruisk, and Kalinkavichy – Mazyr. The vehicles were also seen in the towns of Khoiniki and Kalinkavichy. We can state a decrease in the intensity of columns’ movement.
Insignificant flight activity was observed in Belarus. A Mi-8 helicopter (RF-16648) of the Russian Air Force flew from Machulischy airfield to Shatalovo airfield (Smolensk oblast, Russia).
Activity of the Russian Armed Forces on the railroad was recorded:
- Movements: Tsentralit railway station (Gomel) – east, Vasilevichy – Gomel (April 16), Luninets – Minsk – Smolensk (April 16), Gomel-Nechetny – Gomel-North.
- Loading of equipment was spotted at Tsentralit (Gomel) and Yelsk railway stations (here and here).
- Loaded trains, as well as trains with empty flatcars were spotted at Gomel-Nechetny railway station.
It has been reported that loading of military equipment onto railroad flatcars is slow, because some of the equipment is severely damaged. Because of this, they have to be moved on trailers or rigid trailer hitch.
No movements of military equipment of the Belarusian Armed Forces were recorded.
